Commitment to Collaboration: Strategies for Inclusion of Children with Special Needs and Their Families
Minnesota Association for Family and Early Education (MNAFEE), in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Education and PACER, is presenting a workshop to help early childhood staff plan for successful inclusion. These workshops will be offered in seven locations around the state in October and November 2009 and January 2010. Anyone working with children and/or parents in an early childhood setting (ECFE, School Readiness, Head Start, and childcare) is encouraged to attend.
Attend this workshop to:
-Gain a better understanding of the requirements that guide our practice of including children with special needs in early childhood settings
-Understand how the Response to Intervention Pyramid Model can help us think about and plan for all children
-Identify the qualities of successful collaboration across programs
-Learn how to adapt curriculum and classroom practices to best meet the needs of all children
-Improve how we communicate and work with parents of children in inclusive classrooms
-Work with your team to develop an action plan
